I have been tempted by the RX100 series for many years, have come close on many occasions in the past but resisted for whatever reason. I recently got the option to buy a mark3 in new condition and finally took the plunge. I must say early impressions do not disappoint. If anyone can point me in the direction of tips for settings etc, here, or in the old place I would be most grateful. Thanks in advance.
    Regards
    Gary.

Thank you, I found them and you are right, very helpful. The manual is very poor but I do like the menu system so Elliott’s guidance is excellent.

    My early impressions.
It is very small (obvious statement,I know). The added grip is essential, I don’t think I would have bought it without it (the benefit of handling instore).
Image quality is excellent, I am a JPG shooter so am still experimenting with settings.
The menu system is easy to navigate and comprehensive.
The viewfinder is one of the reasons I wanted the RX100, however I find I am not using it that much. It is a bit annoying that it switches the camera off when you close it.
The tilt screen is excellent, both in terms of clarity and flexibility.
The size and handling are issues which I think I will overcome through use, but, maybe a long learning curve.
    I will update periodically
    Regards
    Gary

Thank you Gary. I'm interested in your opinion about that camera. Please update, and post some pictures. We don't care if it's a Sony or whatever.
