I started a thread on DPReview to promote DPRevived and it was removed.

Which forum was it posted in?

Yeah, which forum? I've also done that and even have the URL here in my sig. No problems so far.

I have been spreading the word successfully so far.
    Let's keep doing it.

I’ve seen it all over DPR - could just be one mod being overzealous with the “no spam” rule.

    Was it in Open Talk?

I see that one of the moderators of Open Talk is now a moderator on one of the other Dpreview replacement sites. Not this one.

Several threads in DPR's Site Feedback forum got locked; others might have been deleted, but what I'd personally call the 'main' DPRev thread in that forum has been around for a couple of days, most recent post about an hour ago, I think.

So I don't think it's exactly 'censorship' by DPR in general, though some individual mods might well be locking/deleting threads.

The problem with moderators on DPReview is that there is little control, see the moderation thread here. On the Open forum one has unexpectedly been very supportive. One has been openly hostile, supporting one of the other forums. The other one, I don't know. So it depends on which mod you're dealing with, I think. You can always use pms.

I just tried reposting (again) on Open Talk.

My threads on the subject are still showing there.

The assumption in the original post of this thread seems to be that DPReview has a policy on this subject, and is carrying it out. In spite of requests from mods, there has been no advice from staff to the mods on how to deal with this, and the moderators are all making individual decisions. In the forum that I moderate, we're not limiting communications about where to go next. In other forums, the mods are deleting and locking threads. It's not a pretty picture.

True I am not sure where Open Forum/Feedback/Canon forums moderator got the idea that only he can start DPReview closure threads. He has also been actively deleting posts in Feedback Forum that were questioning his actions. Seriously? I hope he does not end up a moderator here.

Hopefully that moderator is in the minority. The forums I regularly requent on DPR have multiple, open threads on "where are we going next?" and they're still open and active.

This afternoon I started a thread in Nikon Z Talk under the heading dprevived.com. It attracted a number of positive responses from other users before it was removed early this evening. I don't know whether this is a general policy of DPReview, but I do know that it is happening on the Nikon Z Talk forum.

Is it possible that DPReview.removes these posts because Amazon don't want something to replace or outlive DPReview.com of which the name will be a constant reminder of Amazon's decision to eliminate and bury DPReview.com. If so, it does not bode well for how long DPReview will be accessible after April 10.

Indeed. Why even care about following what they think are the rules in this situation? Any sensible person would realize that saving what can be saved is the only way o go now.

No, I don't think it's possible, let alone likely.

As several other posters have stated, threads about DPRevived and other DPR replacements have been going strong on multiple forums without any signs of interference from the main DPReview staff. I'm currently active on three forums - Adapted Lens, L-Mount, and Landscape - and posts about DPR successors are present and accounted for.
