Just to let you all know that the file size limit for uploads is now ..... [wait for it] ....
100 Mb.
Have fun - and remember that there is a quota limit of 4Gb per user. If you upload a lot of 100mb files, you will quickly reach the quota limit (about 40 files if my maths is correct).
You may need to log off and log back on to access the extra.

What happens when a user reaches their 4GB limit and what "extra" data do you mean?
Also, if a member subsequently deletes attached images from their posts, does the members "free space" amount increase accordingly?
Sorry - by 'extra', I mean the extra file limit from 4mb to 100mb.
When you reach your quota limit, you cannot add any more files. Some of your posts will need to be deleted.

At some stage we'll find a way of backing up excess to slow cheap storage, but we'll need a source of income first.

Okay, I'll ask a silly question, nothing new there, but how do we delete images from a thread without making that thread a mess?
I can see a bar in the posting area with what's been used and what's free, but where do we delete the images from?
Unless anyone knows a better answer:
Go to your profile and get a list of your posts.
Scroll down and find posts from which you want to delete images
For each post, edit and delete offending image. If you want to keep things tidy you could reload a smaller version.
At some stage we'll find a better solution. Still on low hanging fruit stage.
Yeah that's what I thought Bob. If we could have something like an attachment option that shows images uploaded by a user, it would be a lot easier, but also realise that might not be an option at the moment or even with misago. I just wouldn't want someone to butcher a thread to do it.
Having said that, it wouldn't apply to me with the file sizes I use. Anyway, all the best your way.

In addition - after deleting the attached image in a post perhaps also delete the link to the image embedded in the post otherwise the huge missing/broken image icon appears in your post.

I don't know. When I tested an upload this morning it all just worked. Using Chrome, not Brave.

I was getting that error on one of my tablets too — logging into the site fixed the issue for me.
It happened right now...
Sob I will try to exit and reload the site clearing cache and whatever
( on W10 = F12 > you'll find > clear data - half way down )
Now you can also paste an image you have into the clipboard and it will works.
Cannot reproduce the Error after Logout + ClearCache + Relogging - may be that's it!
Now that the upload file size limit is 100MB per file be careful if you accidentally start uploading a 30MB file, for example, when you intended to upload a 1MB version.
I just found out that when I cancelled/deleted the uploading of a 3.5MB file during the upload (the percent uploaded display is still increasing), the 3.5MB was still added to my Used Space and deducted from my Free Space values.
The take-away lesson is that if you accidentally start uploading a larger than intended file, let the upload finish and then delete the completely uploaded file.
Deleting a completely uploaded file will deduct its file size from your Used Space tally and add it to your Free Space allowance.
We can likely delete dodgy attachments if you identify them.
In this case it doesn't matter. It was only 3.5MB.
But what would help more is if the Used and Free Space values were updated after the file upload was completed and successful and not before the file is fully uploaded as is the case now.
In 99.9% of uploads it shouldn't be an issue but in the unlikely event a member's internet connection goes down or is interrupted during an upload or a member cancels an upload (as I did) before it is completed, the member's Used and Free Space values are not affected if the 2 space values are updated after the upload.
It should be a fairly easy coding adjustment so that the values are updated after the upload and not before.
Maybe this "bug/undocumented feature" could be added to feature list for the Misago developers.
The list's getting a bit disordered - so much development in such a short time.
