Hi to everybody,
This is my first post here. I hope that everything works out with posting my photos. Some may remember me from the original DPR site. It's nice to see some familiar names here :-)
After a "lousy" winter - far too little snow - the first signs of spring are appearing. Actually, it's too early for that up here. The winter was pretty normal temperature-wise, mostly cold, but we missed the snow a lot.
The lack of snow also kept me from taking pictures during the last three months. But now the tentative signs of spring lured me to take the camera along once again. So here are some first spring pictures:
The first crocus appeared a little over two weeks ago.
Although too early, they are still beautiful to look at.
The sparse snow gave way furiously in recent weeks. Too fast for my taste... Of course, the warming spring sun is nothing to sneeze at when you go hiking, but in previous years there was still a considerable amount of snow around this time. I really hope that the next winter will be cold and snowy again!
This little beauty was still hidden the day before.
The larches still don't show any green at all and the crocus did not multiply either. It's a rather strange year until now to say the least.
Looking at the shot I took yesterday we seem to be back in winter. But I'm not complaining in any way, because the water is more than necessary. So I am even grateful for it! To reach the normal water levels in lakes, rivers and groundwater it would have to snow or rain for several days. I only hope that the precipitation will fall gently, without storms and floods. And before long the "real" spring will arrive anyway :-)
Snow that we missed in winter...

Best wishes,

P.S. I had to edit it several times to get where I wanted. But now it starts to look ok.
