Reminds me of several dead spiders i've seen in cellars and caves. Infested by some mycelium they appeared white as fresh snow.

It's more like their old skin, after shedding.

You think of exuviae?
Those are often transparent and show a beige or brownish tint. Not opaque and distinctly white.

Now we need to wait at lesst another 5 days (7th Oct) plus 2 days for voting to finish, a total of another 7 days, before a new starter image is posted.

A faster turnaround of threads and starter images increases the chances of a starter image coming up that might encourage more members to have a go at editing it.
