We spent Wednesday's late afternoon into evening at the Botanical Garden's Golden Hour. The main attraction seems to be the music that is provided each Wednesday …

The Botanical Garden also has an origami sculpture display along the paths in the Garden.

We went back at the music event as the sun started to go down and wee were about to lease the Gardens

I took the M1.1 along with the O40-150mmPro lens and substituted a few panos for the wide angle lens I should have taken … I may get back and share the rest of our walk through the gardens this evening and pictures from the visit a couple days earlier but for now I think this is enough ….

This is a nice and relaxing set of pictures, WhyNot. It's a lovely park and the people look nice and mellow. I like the yellow lily and wonder what the contraption in the picture beneath is. Rich

An interesting set WN. Lots of people out enjoying being out but it does not really look like they are paying much attention to the musician. The day lily is gorgeous. That swing looks like a nice place to take a nap as long as no one would disturb you for doing so! A fine time out and about WN.

Thank you Andrew .. Yes it seems to attract many people and picnics .There was a installation of swings and many fortunately were left behind when most left ... but I have no idea what that one is about unless you're right and they expected a few to take a siesta .. We may go back a few more times before the summer is over ....

I generally post my photos in the Canon photos section, where we have a lively group that comments on each other's work: please visit and contribute -- "non-Canon" photos are welcome.

You seem to have a lot of nice event in your botanical garden. We have concerts, but paid ones. They get great artists though. The other night John Fogerty was there - but it was far outside my budget. Alas, I like Credence, could have been fun to see him live.

Thanks Charlotte it was a good evening even if I can no longer enjoy the music ... but not exactly free as everyone has to pay to get into the gardens ..... We have been members since it opened several decades ago ...

Oh! So you pay a yearly fee and then have access to everything? That's better anyway.

We used to have free access to Linnés gardens. One of them is in the middle of the town. It was nice to just stroll in there, sit down a little while among the flowers and read the paper or something. Now there is an entrance fee. I don't pay about $10 to sit on a bench for 15 minutes. Tax money goes to the upkeep of places like that. Access should be free for citizens. A fee for guided tours of the buildings and things like that would be reasonable, the tourists go for that.

Yeah! …. society is evolving .. here every amenity and courtesy seems to have value and is charged. …. Science, laws, ethics are now a burden as a large segment of society seems to be saying '”make me!” There is a large movement to role back the Enlightenment and return to those good old days of the Dark Ages when the church defined and enforced our beliefs ….. then again maybe I'm just suffering from thoughts brought on by age ..... but I did like the last century better …. So observe and enjoy life …..

A little heavy for this early in the morning I need to get some more coffee …..

Well I am just enjoying my coffee now, 11:44 a.m., WN. Rather late for me but I did sleep last night so, wahoo! I share your feeling WN about the direction of the world in general. The world today would be a better place without them. My feelings anyway. I suspect more people have died from conflict brought on by religious beliefs than all other wars combined. Rather bizarre if you think about it! People came to the new world to escape persecution brought on by their beliefs. Now in the new world, if you don't share their beliefs you are to be persecuted! Full circle it would seem.

Anyway, I hope your coffee is done and you are perhaps enjoying another sitting in the garden or else where. I was going to head off to the RBG this morning but rain is in the forecast off and on and the forecast changes by the minute. Light showers only predicted which likely means half a dozen rain drops. Over a month now since we have had rain of significance.

Somewhat related. I'm reading a thriller series I for some reason had missed (Swedish, you probably don't know it, author Arne Dahl. alias for Jan Arnald). Anyway, I'm on the last book now, came out 2014. The big protests in Spain, Indignados, and the Occupy Wall Street movement is mentioned and both are actually part of the story. I had forgotten all about that, but people did protest back then. Doesn't seem to have worked though, not for long anyway.
