Yes it does! I wish I had known that days ago! It turns out that there is more functionality in this software than at first appeared. I wonder if there should be something, somewhere which explains how to use the forum - not a forum/thread for members’ contributions but a simple list for things like navigation and the difference between the various ‘reply buttons, the various image post options etc. for the guidance of new users?
But it’s all mixed in with feature requests etc…. Admittedly, I just skimmed through it, but there doesn’t seem to be any reference to the ‘next unread’ feature which Alan just mentioned (for example).
I wrote earlier: My initial impression of the alternating grey-white background was… hummm, ‘that’s a bit dark’ !
but, it (renders great) works very well when viewed on my iPhone.
I just noticed after I licking the “blue thing” I was taken to a post that I’d previously read (and replied to) that had been edited in the interim. I wonder if modifying the post is playing a role in some cases? Will try to pay closer attention when this happens.
It seems to be better now at marking posts as read, but you still have to scroll past each one - so if it's a multi page thread you've got to click + scroll, rinse and repeat.
I'd prefer if it kept track of when I'd last been in the thread, rather than individual post tracking - but it seems that's just how the system has been designed.
In lieu of that, a simple "mark thread as read" button would be handy, so you could reset the blue marker yourself without click + scroll...
This new gray/white apperance of the forum threads is quite annoying to me. If there were slightly more visible separation lines in between the posts, the color alteration wouldn't be necessary.
Signatures would be great. I especially like seeing where people are located. It sometimes helps to understand the photographs better and also appreciate the locations that people are shooting (if not otherwise identified).
Right click > option Open in new tab for the Quote and Reply buttons
It is there on the site on other places and may other forum sites have this. Very useful if you're in the middle of a long thread and see something to reply to, only to discover on reading more that somebody already did so
thanks, but I think that is not what I meant. I'll give an example. I was reading the current thread on Exposure triangle. Op page 4 I found something I might want to reply to. But we are now at 19 or so, so I wanted to postpone my reply until I'd read all because someone else might already have answered. Not a biggie, just a nice to have
