I like mine a lot - I think it really comes down to whether or not the fixed 28mm-ish lens meets your needs.

I thought I’d try and stick with the 18mm on my Fuji X-Pro1…which has pretty much the same FOV. Those Q2 files are luscious to work with.

Hmmm… the quote embedding seems to have screwed up… This is what I meant to say:

Personally, I enjoy using my Q2 much more than my X-Pro 3 (even though in some ways it’s more capable) and I think fun counts for a lot!

    I keep quoting @bobn2:
*I have a theory that photographers produce better photos when they use gear that they are really happy with. And that happiness is a completely personal thing. *

Edit: OK, italics do not work yet :)

What's holding you back? I did that a year ago and never looked back.

Davinator, with the Q3 being announced soon, they if you have waited this long - why not wait a little longer. Either you decided on the Q3 or if the Q2 decreases in price, you might get a "deal." Of course there is the old pitfall of Always waiting for the next best thing - never getting anything syndrome.

I have the Q2M - great camera. I'd buy it again today independent of a Q3. But If I wanted the color version (Q2), I would wait. But that is me. I suspect you would be happy with the Q2. Decisions, decisions, decisions ...

I guess the main Q3 upgrades will be:

1: Sensor upgrade, to the same 60mp of the M11.

2: Price upgrade, maybe around $7500.

I am not sure I would say I love it but I definitely enjoy the shooting experience on the M11.

I have become somewhat critcal after Leitz started catering for the fashion business, but I assume that just making sturdy and extremely good optics could not sustain its business. My former IIIc M3 and M6 + the Prados, Leicinas and the Trinovids were extermely hardy and my fairly recent M & R optics perform well on a high resolution Nikon Z body, while the SL2 and the last R bodies still work as designed when fed film and the right batteries.

Leica pricing has to reflect costs and may paradoxically attract buyers.
If added income beyond immediate costs sustains better future research and quality rather than just disappearing down the usual business black holes, so be it.

But the TL was disappointing in its lack of easy methods to modiy and control exposure. I presume that fingerprint collectors for steering all functions is what sells, BUT I prefer kit that can be operated with gloves in winter and do accept auto features that can be overridden apart from focussing .

So in conclusion, Leitz in its Kern/Wild-modified shape of Leica, especially their optics , can be recommended.

A lot of people thought that about the CL, and other cameras over the years. That (CL) obviously never happened. Will there be a Q3? Almost certainly. When? No one knows. Could be tomorrow, could be a year. I would, and do, prefer to shoot today with my Q2 than to sit around for ??? how long waiting for a Q3. Buy a used one and sell it, if necessary, after the Q3 drops.
