I have been going through some old pictures, to make up the third and last Blurb book, of the pictures I took whilst hiking along the 00 footpath that runs along the Tosco Emilian Apennines. I also for curiosity I also reprocessed some pictures of Arles and Avignon, taken with a 12MP D300 in 2010. I was surprised what I was able to do with these pictures taken in difficult light, with the 2024 edition of Capture One.
I was also interested to see that I could make sharp pictures without IBIS/VR back then. My D850/Z7, has a bit more dynamic range, but the difference in image quality is pretty slight. The pictures look good on my big screen.
With AI masking and the dodging an burning tool in C1, I was able to make presentable final images, that with the software of the time, would have been far more difficult, if not impossible.
