Snap seed is fantastic for quick conversions that look very good. Not as much control as Silver Efex and the like, but often more than good enough.
I am still curious about the digital Pen for street photography. The only Pen I’ve used is the Olympus Pen half frame 35mm camera. It is awesome getting 72+ frames on a roll. And as I love grain, the extra grain from half frame is welcome.

Perhaps I am barking up the wrong tree.... here I sit with my analog gear and love it and 'do I need a digital, beyond a Ricoh I have?".... I have thought of the Pen Half-frame as it intrigues me and I too love grain. But, then I get into a whole new set of lens'.... although might be worth giving it a try.
Do the newer lens that fit the digital Pen 4/3 fit the film Pen? jim

I have tons of lens' for my OM-1 and 2sp...and several cameras of each. I almost prefer the OM-1 since it, like the Pen, is just bare bones. It really allows you as a photographer to concentrate and compose, and to look for new situations etc.... Just yesterday I was out with the 2Sp and placed it in program mode for a shot or two and oh, how 'un-inspiring' was that! I do love the SP for the spot meter and the ability to have an exposure comp dial when shooting in manual though. But the Pen? .... Well, I have invested in my OM cameras and lens, just as many have done for the Pen F / FT... so probably won't go down that road even though they are perhaps more reliable than the OM1 series, due to the EVF.
I keep reading though on the Pen Digital, the E-P7 and P5.... Chances are I might pick up a P5 and just play with it and see how it compares to my Ricoh GR.

I am with you on the film, ...as I have stated. Film for me, is easier to control. But that is just me....
In terms of being nasty on DPR....try the Leica Forum..... yikes.... talk about nasty comments as they 'drive one away' if not in the 'in crowd' it seems or, if you go against the grain and try to be creative in your approach. But then again, so are other forums I am part of such as a bird forum. If a bird forum can become nasty, then anything can! .... :-) jim
UPDATE: .... I didn't purchase the Pen F but purchased a pristine Pen E-P5. I also purchased the zoom 14-42. My thoughts were that will OM now produce a new Pen F and going beyond the E-P7? Not sure but when you google Olympus rumors, it appears that it is at least in the current thinking that the Pen F series is not done for. Will wait and see.
Given that....and given that I shoot analog 90% of the time, there was no reason to invest heavily in a rather expensive Pen F when I could get the P5 for $350, and in mint condition. I think it will do me nicely in my 10% digital needs.
After reading reviews it would appear that the Pen E-P7 is somewhat 'cheaper' in build, although still solid I am sure. Also, the P5 allows me to purchase a EVF if I wish to while the P7 does not. The build quality of this P5 is outstanding....I am very impressed by the feel, ergonomics....the outer covering, the knob quality and also how they turn etc.... I shoot BW and find what Olympus has as options either as default or in the Arts program is just fine. Perhaps not as good as the Pen F....but if I raise the ISO and shoot with the grainy Arts mode, it looks just fine to resemble (not be though), film.
If I enjoy shooting this I will pick up some prime lens's as I more or less feel with the 14-42 that I am shooting a super-zoom camera, or at least that is my impression. I love primes....it forces me to shoot at one focus length and only one, no other options with one prime lens on the camera. I have always been this way as prime makes one more focused in their approach and mentally you begin to focus in on images that match what ever your prime lens is.

Ha...I totally agree. I usually will state to someone....if you want film, just shoot film!!!!!! But I only shoot digital 10% of the time, if that. Usually just family and grandkids when I want something quick and yet, with taste. But yes, shoot film. Why go after a 'film wanna-be' when you can have film all told?
You might see if there is an adapter for your favorite analog lenses and try them with the crop sensor effect, I shot a lot of my old film lenses on M43 bodies. Mostly 50mm and sometimes 35mm. The 135mm's were often good designs, and they look pretty good on an M43 sensor. Haha. I didn't have much beyond these focal lengths, I found my 28mm not as good as what the 14-42 zoom could do,
Later, I got a .70x speed booster adapter in FD mount. That let my FD50mm a 70mm view with a 1 stop increse im light, I got an FD-M42 adapter for my Takumar 135mm. That gave me a 200mm f2.8 equivalent.

a small cheap digital is also good to take when shooting film for a extended time and use it just like studio photographers used polaroid in the days gone by and check out possible outcomes eg a old ricoh gr digital
The E-P7 does have a lot more advantages over the E-P5 (it's been 10 years since its introduction), but $350 is hard to beat.
The price justifies the age as well as my need. I had a Leica X2 that was enjoyable but wanted to broaden my focal length, if needed....I feel I made the right decision. But today.....I take my analog OM's out once more....
