That is what my wife says , I hoped you would be more understanding 😀 Anyway in the interest of compassion for your pain an ample application of this product will take your mind right off things

Welcome to my life in general 😓 (and it's often times not even because of comparing myself with others...)

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and reasons. I feel like I understand a lot of what you've mentioned unfortunately...

And for what it's worth, I've already seen a good number of highly impressive images from you here! You don't have to worry one bit about a lack of talent in my humble opinion.

😂 Indeed, that sounds hard... Hope you feel better tomorrow! 👍

Try getting run over by a ute/pickup truck (depending on country) Broken hip, wrecked knee, bulged discs in my back, Covid sounds like a walk in the park to me ha ha ha.
The only person that can help you, is yourself. With a bit of guidance and help from the medical profession.
And before anyone starts on stress and mental issues, I didn't see my own two young kids for about 14 years. Who obviously aren't young any more, but finally getting back in contact

I think it probably crosses all our minds to compare ourselves (unfavorably, usually) to others. I'm at the point in my life where I've accepted that I'll never be rich or famous for my photography, and I'm mostly interested in enjoying it for its own sake and pleasing myself with it. Still, I go through phases where I just set the camera aside for a while because I have no new ideas, no motivation, no muse, and too many obstacles. Then I snap one picture, or do one sketch, and something about it gives me another idea, and onward I go, looking under every rock for another inspiration. (I did find my most successful project quite by accident, so I'm always hopeful for another).

Keep at it. You have a lot of creative drive, and you're shaping a unique path for yourself. Follow your own muse and don't worry if she doesn't look like anyone else's.

For many people, getting OUT of contact with other people is what helps their mental health.

Just like the bumper sticker- "the more people I meet, the more I enjoy my cat"

The biggest plus in photography [mental health wise] is getting some Vitamin 'N' N is for Nature, and getting away from other people!

Crazy stuff. I never liked it when my son rode his bike because I was always afraid of getting that knock on the door saying he was hit. We have the worlds worst drivers here and they just don't pay attention for bikes at all. I got him a car when he was first able to drive. That was many many years ago.

In the past couple of weeks two cyclists have been badly hurt near my house another was killed about a mile away. When I was young my cousin was killed on a motorbike so they were forbidden in our family despite my dad being a biker when he was young. Too much traffic on the road these days and too many idiots . My only motor bilking experience unknown to my Mum and Dad of course 😀 was using my mates Scrambling bikes on a disused coal bing and surrounds great fun and the soot ground made for a soft if mucky landing. The bing is still there but the surrounds have been landscaped years ago

We also used to play in the ventilation tunnels that went under the bing, now that was dangerous 😀 They bricked those up eventually

When my Dad was young, they used to play in the gun service tunnels that were constructed to protect Cook straight in NZ. Until one day he fell down one of the vertical shafts that connected the different levels. Just before he hit the bottom of the shaft, he caught his chin on one of the pipes that provided services to the different areas. Extremely lucky, and unlucky. Smashed his jaw to bits, not quite far enough back to break his neck, but slowed him enough to not get killed on landing on the rubbish below. His mates took off to get help, they used some old electrical cabling to lift him out, and off to hospital. He was interviewed a couple of years back, some bloke was writing a book detailing the history of the gun emplacements etc in the area, and there's a bit of a write-up about him in the book.
More lives than a cat that man, I write that in all seriousness, I've personally seen him use up two, saved his life once when I was just a kid, luckily I seen to have inherited a bit of it 😁😁

Considering all the stuff we got up to as kids it is a surprise so many of us make it to adulthood 😀

When I was younger, I crashed on a bicycle and got run over by a car before I could get back up. Skidded over, actually, and dragged a bit according to the "blood and body parts" at the scene, as written in the police report. Lot's of dark humor that day. Like the paramedic saying to another paramedic, "Looks like a humerus fracture" with the bone sticking out of my arm. So I said, "Not so fucking funny when it happens to you, though." Of course, I was just kidding, but I felt pretty bad when the paramedic came into the trauma ward of the hospital to apologize for his comment when I was just being a smart-ass.

Fortunately, unlike Covid, the body just goes into shock and you don't feel anything. All I felt was a scraped up palm and a wicked charlie horse in my right leg -- my arm just "felt funny" and I didn't realize I was so tired because blood was gushing out a huge chunk taken out of my left leg (the source of the "blood and body parts"). But, I couldn't see any of it lying in the street, and couldn't feel it. Covid, on the other hand, is one helluva a way to check out.

To be honest, anyone with a ton of money they want to give me could also go a long way to helping me out. 😁

I think that's the winner of the "that sucks" award -- very glad to hear that you're finally getting back into contact!
