Thought I'd try posting something to see how this place feels.
I added my OP username and posted date to the title as this info seems to be missing from threads here.
Just a random pic from my Lr catalog which I'm playing around with atm after updating to the subscription version

A very nice result Peter. Also, very nice to see your post here!!! I still have reservations about 'here' but at the moment it seems to be the only real game in town. I am still looking and hoping though. The threaded view is a necessity. I can not for the life of me understand the lack of web platforms that natively support threaded view.

As a side note, after you upload the image file, if you click on the box beside the file within the rectangle that shows the upload it will add a version of the image within the post. Downside, the view shown sucks! It must be further compressed to such a degree that it generally looks lifeless and void of detail. I end up viewing the original file anyway so not sure it really matters unless the initial lousy view allows you enough information to pass on viewing the original uploaded file.

I think your idea of adding your name to the title is brilliant! The date if it fits is also a great idea.

below I copied the address for your image shown in the rectangular box and added to my reply by using the 'mountain' icon in the tool bar at the top of the edit window. It actually looks better than the larger thumbnails that are generated but perhaps they have made more changes to the site since my last image attempt.

The cities of southern Europe... I get longings every time I see pictures like this. Lovely. Want to be there. ASAP (looking out at the cold rain and trying to make do...).

Thanks. I recall that the Pano stitching did leave some ghosts and duplications which needed to be fixed

Hi, perhaps you shouldn't expect perfection at this stage? DPR took many years to alter & upgrade its site & this one has only been around for a few weeks. The more users there are, the more likely it will be that posting oddities appear which stimulate corrective action.

.I could perhaps accept your feelings as more valid if you were paying a subscription fee.

DPR had threaded messages already in 2002! I suspect the code was hand written from scratch and not based upon any existing forum/website software. Misago does not support threaded view out of the box. It is open source so someone could manage to manufacture a threaded view. That said Misago is a decade old so it is not new! This forum is though. I suspect that threaded view will not appear any time soon Keith.

Too bad Amazon would not allow the code for dpr forums to be used by others. They could even try to sell it as WordPress does.
