An exceptional image!👍

It is also appreciated that you have a lot of patience.👍
I agree :- awesome images. They look so cute and fluffy.
If only I could do the same with a colourful dragonfly. But I would be reluctant to capture one to start with in case I damaged it's wings...
Out of curiosity, what aperture did you use?
f4 microscope objective
Did you ever try to use a manual aperture adjustable mechanical iris diaphragm for microscope objective?

no ,im at the edge of ultimate image quality using f4 lens eq to f16 FF sensor 5 micron pixels, dont need to close down the aperture, i can still get images like this one with the a6700 3.8micon pixels, but noise/diffraction does start to show but only if looking at 200%. i switch sensors purely for adjusting framing.
You might be surprised by the usefulness of collecting images with a very closed aperture, even if this induces a significant loss of quality on those images.
It is about using a limited number of images with as wide a DOF as possible collected on precisely determined planes in advance, in order to more easily correct the lack of detail in areas masked by the diffusion of some elements of the subject positioned at a significant distance from what is behind them.
These images are mixed anyway with their pairs collected with maximum resolution and narrow DOF. This is about a technical trick for stacks.

im always open to sugestions, i will do some resurch on the subject and maybe build a lens to your discription ,i have plenty of gear and a good workshop.
yesterday i did experiment with the number of images in a stack , my equipment is designed and made by myself and no one else in the world is using anything like my gear and technique. im not even sharing it with others as i like to show off my advancement of shooting live subjects. yesterday was the first time i could shoot 2 stacks symitainously using a slow scan speed of 430 images and fast scan speed of 178 images the over lap is clearly enough on the fast scan speed but the larger stacked images definatly had a cleaner look as the images would have been overlapped at least 75% where the smaller stack 30%. total DOF is just 2mm 😁 because i shoot live subjects speed is the primary factor. i dont have a problem when shooting my a7iv as the larger pixels produce the cleanest stacks i have ever seen anywhere.
Did some surfing. reducing aperture with my set up will not bring anything to the party, my system is that unique that it solves most of the problems others have experienced with stacking images. im at the presice shutter speed, lighting intensity , sensor size and scan speed that i really cant change any of the settings due to the effect on motion blur, even using the new A9iii at 120 frames per sec does not fit the formular im using for ultimate image quality. interesting idea though. I have even reframed from spending thousands of dollars on expencive objectives, trust me i have the money but no one can show me in there images that mitty objectives can give me a better result. even my tube lens is way off what anyone else is using and i have bought there recomendations but have kept my setup due to less aberations.
Absolutely fabulous image. Amazing quality.
Thanks for sharing,

Thank you.

Congratulations for your dedication and passion for what you do. The results are exceptional!👍
