Welcome all to the Sunday Cat!, a weekly gathering of image makers on a subject of mutual interest, our feline friends. The Sunday Cat! has appeared each Sunday, except for a brief interruption in September, 2016, since Anton AK started the thread at DPReview on 23 September 2007. Successive thread managers have been John King, Warriormouse, Robert J, Coldamus, Robert J again (with an assist by StanTsui) and since September 2016, former lurker, me. When DPReview was threatened with closure in March 2023, the last Sunday Cat! there was hosted on 2 April 2023. After taking a leap of faith, the Sunday Cat! landed here at its new home on 9 April 2023. This week begins year two of the Sunday Cat! at DPRevived! :D

As said by Warriormouse, "Photos can be more than just art, they can be memories, so come share your picture and stories of your feline companions with us."

“Official” posting time is every Sunday at 0000 UTC. Because this is Saturday afternoon for me, posting time may vary to accommodate my schedule. I'll try to post a message if I know I will be very late. Anyone anxious to start the new week is free to do so. But if you do, please PM me so I don’t accidentally double post.

Come one, come all! All cats, all cameras welcome. Images from any time, any place. Let the Sunday Cat! be a refuge where nice comments abound and only constructive criticism is given when it's requested.

The Sunday Cat! is now open for business. :D

    Thread Manager's Corner:
It's been a slow week here at the official location of the Sunday Cat!, but back at DPReview, where I post a link pointing to the new week's thread here, things have been surprisingly lively, with additional wonderful images to enjoy. :) Give it a look! I am quite distracted these days with Palmer, who is probably living out has last days, although he could use another one of his nine (I think we're down five) lives if he chooses. Thus I was especially absent this past week and will likely continue this way in the coming week. His time is getting short and he is getting most of mine right now.

Though small in size, the imprint they make on our lives is huge.

Stripey has just returned from the vet, partially shaved. There is a stray that attacked Tiger a month or so ago and this week Stripey. Both got badly infected bite wounds. Antibiotics, painkillers and unhappy cats

    This was taken pre shaving

Stripey looks like she has murder on her mind if she ever sees that cat again!

I can sympathize with them both. I only recently got over something similar. I unintentionally got between Mr. Me and the stray cat on the other side of the sliding door just as Mr. Me was about to launch at it. He got me instead. Weeks of antibiotics and bandages to soak up what was oozing from the wounds. At least I didn't have to get shaved! I hope they don't get one of the feline diseases like FIV. That seems to be rather common where I live. It's usually spread by bites. Mr. Me has it and Bugsy did as well. Here's hoping that they both recover quickly and well, without picking up any infectious diseases, and that the troublemaker moves on so that it will be safe for them to go outside again.
