This is the weekly Collegial Show Your Photos Any Brand thread where we invite you to show your own pictures. It is collegial in that it is a pleasant and friendly place among photographers to share.

I will begin this thread each Monday (Pacific Standard Time) to give each of you all the chance to share your weekend photos with us, for those that follow a regular work week schedule and choose to do it that way. But the pictures can be taken at any time with any camera, including your cell phone. It's open to all skill levels from beginners to advanced. The images posted can be anything from casual snaps to extraordinary. I'll be sure to comment to each of your photos, if you choose to share. Replies from others are encouraged also.

The intent of this thread to mainly to just show photos in a relaxed way and to generate replies or comments about them. Generally I'm not planning to critique any image unless asked. But I or we may ask things about a photo that may develop into a discussion, always being friendly and helpful. It has been a request that I mention this and from what I've learned from past experience: Can you ask a member first if they would mind you editing their photos?

Remember it's all about the enjoyment of taking pictures regardless of what we have. We can learn from each. Please share any tips or techniques too. A narrative sometimes also helps. Thanks everyone for your participation.

A those birds typical for North America, we don't see them in Europe normally 😉

    Subject: Eurasian Wigeon

The Eurasian Wigeon is very scarce in North America. I knew it was rare, so I took a lot of pictures of it.

Edit: Note that photos numbers 8 and 9 are the same, except for brightness. I hadn't decided which one I like better.

    Subject: Farmland

This past Friday and Saturday I took a trip. This was the first one since traveling to California last October. I thought I would show you one picture of some Oregon farmland. I will show the rest later on another weekly thread. I take these from the car as a passenger. It's tough to do, but a few of them came out pretty good. It's "hit or miss", but you get a lot of photos that way without having to stop the car.

The weather this weekend was very nice again, temperatures close to 20c and sunny.
The temperature might be to high for this time but we did enjoy it.
More work in our backyard and a nice short * bike tour again
Started near Groningen Airport Eelde at the Lemferdinge Estate again just like last weekend and cycled through the Onlanden Reserve
Used only one Canon Eos R6-II and a RF 28mm "Pancake"

    Photobygms,

Thanks. I've been busy taking photos. I just have to be careful to not take too many of them. I don't like spending hours reviewing and post processing them later on the computer. But it's too tempting as there's so many things to photograph.

    Photobygms,

That's good you took some time off to enjoy the nice weather after working in your backyard. We have had nice weather also, but we are due to get more rain tomorrow, followed by many days of rain. I just love all of your blue sky and you did find a yellow daffodil flower too. 😀

  • March 10, 2025, 9:02 p.m.

The weather on Sunday afternoon was pleasant and we were out, on the Kahlenberg, the highest spot near Vienna -- 480 metres!

These flowers are called Leberblümchen (Liverwort in English, Hepatica Nobilis in Latin).

    L1001903_b.jpg

This was the view from the top, with the Danube, facing downstream. The Old Danube is on the right, and the New Danube (produced by piling up what was the flood plain and making the Danube Island) on the left. Unusually, both were blue. When spring really comes, mud, etc, from upstream will turn the Old Danube brown. The New Danube is closed off at this end, and only opened when flood threaten. Just beyond the trees one can see vineyards.

    David,

I liked seeing the beautiful delicate flowers. I found the view of your surrounding area interesting. I see the two blue rivers on the left side. I read that on Kahlenberg there is a church that was built a very long time ago. That would be interesting to see it too. Do they have tours inside the church and do they allow photography?

  • March 11, 2025, 8:11 a.m.

    Thanks, Digi!

Do you mean this church? The doors are open every day and I dont see any reason why photos arent allowed inside. There isnt much to see!

I took these photos last November:

    David,

Thanks for sharing with us the pictures of the church. Sometimes in old churches they have magnificent paintings and architecture. Those are interesting to see.
