For me, dprevived is like drinking from a firehose. I generally read camera forums when I have other things going on, such as work builds, and such. So I like to dip in and see if there were responses to threads I had posted to earlier, and then scan the various forums for things to look at.
As others have mentioned, a threaded view is very helpful when you have a long thread that has multiple people commenting and such. Without a threaded view, it can be very hard to match the responses to the original post. It is also very important in a threaded view that the threads highlight which posts you have seen already, so that you can go into the threaded view, and jump down to the start of a selection of unread posts. I see there are some threads about a threaded view, and I hope these are implemented in a usable fashion.
In addition to a threaded view, to me it is very important that I have an icon or some such at the top that indicates what threads that I have posted to have new responses. Mu-43.com in their version of the icon also listed when people liked a post (dpreview.com did not), and I like that also. I also find mu-43.com's version to be more useful than dpreview.com in that it will list all of the posts in order, even ones I've seen. For example, I might see some posts, but I have limited time at the moment. I can go back later when I have more time, and revisit the post and make an extended reply. With dpreview I had to go into recent activity to find the post.
As I mentioned earlier, I wish dprevived allowed longer names with spaces in them, as I tend to prefer 'Michael Meissner' instead of 'MikeMeissner'. If this is implemented, it would be nice if users could change their names.
