I like those - great shots!

I was quite obviously in the mood for some color, I suppose...

Shot with a Kodak Micro-File Ektar 63 mm lens (no idea about the f-stop as it's fixed and not marked, I think something like f/8 though).

Well I posted on the "other" thread a fuller set of an afternoon in the Apennines. So just a pair of alternative views here. For those who did not see the other post elsewhere, we are near Reggio Emilia in Italy

I like the way the ploughed field seems to be lit from within. I think I would have cropped just a bit off the left hand edge...

    Pretty in Purple

"We had been under a tornado watch all day, and this was on the tail end of that. The view is looking east. The tornado threat is moving on out, heading on to out the mid-Atlantic states."
That sounds scary. That's a wonderful sky though.

Purple duly emphasised! Looks so ominous.

I will not be around next week as I am back in the UK for the weekend. So here are a couple of shots I took this morning, to check out properly with a tripod, my Nikon 24PC which went back to Nikon for repairs after a fall. I must compliment LTR, who do repairs for Nikon in Italy for sending me the lens back in excellent form.

I went up to Crovara in the hills above Reggio this morning with my wife. This is one of my favourite spots, with two old fortified farmhouses, perched high on a rocky outcrop. There was was once a castle on this spot. They dominate the valley below, in one of the most savage areas of the mid Tosco Emilian Apennines. Some years ago a couple of skeletons with chains and shackles were unearthed here, a reminder of the violent and lawless past of these mountains.

Looks like spring is in the air.

    NCV:
Two good portraits with "that look" , but 8 grand is a mind-blowing amount to pay for a normal sort of camera. Maybe sombody had made some "Leica" presets for us mere mortals.

@NCV Yes, it insane amount money for a lens and camera combo. Although I am sure, I could recover most of the money I spent when I sale them but still I am not ready to spend it. Manual focus something can be done and enjoyable {unless you need critical focus} but fixed screen, next to no customisation, no IBIS, no electronic shutter. I don't know, they must be doing something right since they manage to sell cameras well but their best selling camera is Q2.
It would be wonderful if there is a small LCD within the OVF (like X100V has, you can bring up and disappear if you like), at least a tilt screen. What makes M serious interesting for me it, the Leica lenses you can use. Very small, optically perfect, colour rendering's dreamy lenses, yes expensive but they hold their value well so you can consider them as investments.

Sunset at my favorite marsh, today. Some new flowers, a Red winged blackbird singing up in a tree, and the tree I have been watching slowly lose the battle with entropy for the past 10 years or so :)

I was going through some older phone pics (oppo A52 - half decent camera for a phone). Nothing special but I don't see many colourful moths. Just appeared on a kitchen benchtop one evening so shot with flash.

    Thank you!

    The light was amazing.

There is just something about this particular marsh. I've gotten a lot of photos there over the years, and how the light hits the place, both early and late in the day, is sometimes really magical. Plus there are occasional interesting birds and other wildlife that wander through, so if my timing is right, I can catch them, also. Of course, there are always the usual contingent of Mallard ducks and Canada geese who live there all summer, but they pretty much stay on the far side, where they beg for tidbits from people having lunch :) ....

I've admired many of your marsh photos over the years. The textures and subtle colours are what appeal to me. Just my kind of shot. The wildlife is an added bonus.
