Dunlap Observatory near Toronto. It was built in 1935 and at that time housed the second largest telescope in the world. The Royal train with King George VI and Queen Mother was visiting the former colonies in 1939 and happened to pass by and see the famous landmark. Today it's open to the public as a touring site in the summer months. I will make a point to go inside and explore further. It sits on a 40 hectares of property and belongs to town of Richmond Hill as a park.

    The coloured room

Finally after dodging the bullet since its appearance, the dreaded Covid got me at Christmas. Nothing serious just a sore throat, tiredness and a heavy cold. But I was a bit confined to home for the holidays. Yesterday I went to Parma to photograph a couple of places with the 15mmPC, but one place was closed and the other surprisingly too crowded to do anything usable.

So I shot some details in a Capella in the Duomo, and reshot a colourful room in Santa Croce, where they were nice and turned the lights on for me. So a pretty disastrous photo outing ended up on a positive note.

Always found those buildings exciting. As if they contain the secrets to the universe. Luckily I live close to Greenwich.

Covid seems a distant memory to all intents and purposes. What a bizarre time.
How accommodating to turn on the lights for you. Some horrific scenes in these murals!

Sorry to hear this. I hope you are completely fit again!

I like these two photos; but why are they so soft? Focus problems or what?

Maybe the viewing software, these 100% pixel peeping crops look sharp enough to me.

The first room shot was at base ISO on a tripod, the other hand held at some high ISO, which is starting to get a bit noisy.

Quite a downpour. I like how the ferry on the left gives some balance to the storm point.

Always something quite ominous about these observatories. I am sure a look in side will throw up some interesting pictures.

Auditorio de Tenerife, Santa Cruz. I haven't brought my laptop on this trip, so this is just a phone snap 😁

Wow, what an impressive piece of Architecture. The phone pics are good, especially the first one, I hope you explored this a bit more with your "proper camera" as from a quick Google search, it looks like a fun subject to explore.
