The sky is beautiful captured through the skylight, lovely colours. The skew composition is a bit distracting though.

The warm colours in The Dancer are very attractive.
Who knew Chorley could be so attractive!
Welcome back. Both shots are very eye catching. The second is is the best one, but I like the abstract colours of the first, even if the big mass of colour on the left throws the picture off balance a bit.
An interesting read as always. The tunnel shot is my pick from this set, along with the dancer.
What a fascinating place, pretty sad that nobody has a use for it. It would make a great concert venue. Certainly is was designed to impress and project the power of the state.
You made a really good documentation.
A really nice idea for a photograph.
But may I say that it needed some horizontal keystone correction in post, to get the top and bottom sides parallel. I have this problem quite often and I correct in post.
Yes, Chris' image is fairly quick and easy to fix in post as shown in the link I posted earlier.

Chorley Town Centre
As I scrambled around to find any composition that I could use capitalise on these nice colours, I spotted that, carefully positioned, I could see several of the major landmarks in Chorley town centre through a gap in the tree tops. This shot shows the tower of the town hall beside the brutalist concrete structure of the police station, a design hated by many locals, but I've always liked it ever since I was a kid as back then it looked futuristic. I still think it looks retro-futuristic now and certainly way better than the hulking beige box of the entertainment and shopping complex the council threw up just before the pandemic, finally destroying the historic location of this market town's "flat iron" market. It's a rough looking thing indeed, with all of the design flair of a 1990's PC. I'm still bitter that they knocked down the Odeon. Anyway...
Who knew Chorley could be so attractive!
Yes, but only from a safe distance. Two miles is usually good enough, although further is generally better ;-)

Both have a nice evening orange light to them.
Thank you Wormsmeat.
The Dancer
We're back to the anthropomorphic trees now, with this characterful chap that appears to be having a grand old time bopping to the sounds of the woods. Nice to see the autumnal colours creeping in too.
I like all your images but I just feel this one is lacking a bit because to me it looks too flat (low contrast) and could probably benefit significantly with some selective dodge and burn and vibrance tinkering to give the scene more depth and punch.
If you like I can show you what I mean.
In any case, very nice set and some food for thought 😊
Garlies Castle
Hidden away in the local woods are the ruins of a small castle, built by the Earl of Galloway in the 15th century. The woodland is now reclaiming the stones, and especially in summer you have to push through the brambles and nettles to get to the walls. Inside are the remains of a vaulted room with a wide fireplace and carved mantle. One corner has a curved staircase leading up to what would once have been the upper rooms.
All the hard work to carve out these figures and there is none to admire them any more...
It looks like place where you could meet Indiana Jones...
Val Venosta 2
Here are some more from my trip to Val Venosta.
Glorenza/Glurns, is a walled town, that is touted as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. We were not too impressed, especially when we returned one evening and found everything closed and the place deserted.
Some "Third Man" vibe shots.
I like this image, the left side straight geometrical lines and clean appearance opposed to right side weathered building.
Hello all
It has been a while. In addition to some traveling, I am getting over a nasty cold.
A couple of weeks ago we had a lesson in my camera club on Blending Techniques in Photoshop. We also had an outing to a glass art gallery where we had an opportunity to use some creative ideas.
These are two of my creations. They both combine shots I took from two different rooms/exhibits in the glass art gallery.
I like this shot, it's showing well these delicate artifacts. I often find hard to get these red colours right in photo for flowers without overexposing them, but maybe for glass it will be easier.
Sunset On The Nab
I made it out of the house on a couple of evenings walks this week, catching a nice sunset one evening, followed by a naff one on the other.
For the nice sunset, I'd brought the GFX100S plus the 32-64 f/4 and 45-100 f/4. My plan was to do a lap of The Nab, starting on the East side, before heading up into and through the woods, then down to the West side to catch the last of the sunset.
As I set out on the first part of the walk, the initially promising sky clouded over, ruining any of the landscape shots I had in mind, so instead I headed off into the woods to see what I could find in there instead.
Tree Tunnel
I've been meaning to shoot this scene for some time. It often leaps out at me as I drive up to park in the layby along here. One problem is the layby is actually in shot from here and, once I've parked, so is my car. On this occasion, I'd managed to tuck the car as far into the hedge as I safely could and then positioned the camera so that the trees on the right were mostly hiding it. There was a little bit of it remaining visible, but a quick dab with C1P's healing tool clumsily got rid of it well enough, I think, see if you can spot the join.
Love this shot, tunnel is luminous and the tree on left side adds just right amount of variety to scene.
This is a very strong composition. Very nice, smart and effective. I loved it.
It is a very melancholic scene, the fireplace shot is my pick.

These are my picks, I think the first and second are very dramatic. the last one is very successful composition.

Interesting concept !
