Lovely. Fantastic light. What city is it?

Very nicely done!! I love the light on the water with enough natural light to show the details of the buildings. That's a wallhanger!!

Nicely done. As already mentioned the "light"/exposure really works. Lots of shadow details while maintaining a natural, night appearance.

Since you posted this in the critique forum, I would have liked to see a wider shot. I have no idea what possibilities were to the left and right, but at a minimum I would have liked to see more of the reflections in the water and more of the bridge in the background.

@meow @Maoby @Dodie Thanks for commenting. It's Oporto city and Douro river, in Portugal, southern Europe.

    Thank you for your comment.
I followed your suggestion and enlarged the image. I didn't do it initially because I wanted to give more prominence to the bridge.
I don't show anything above the bridge, just the arch, because the arch signifies a door to the unknown, and sometimes what you don't see is as important as what you do see. in photographic composition, what you don't see but want to see is just as important as what you do see.

I do prefer the wider version. I would still like to see more of the bridge. The idea of a door to the unknown is lost on me.

A lovely image taken at a great point in time for light. As seen on the screen I prefer the first 'closer' image as the details in the buildings are more apparent. Viewing the second image closer would likely give the same detail and I would prefer it instead. In any case the images are well shot and composed. As presented here there are sharpening halos around the building edges that are apparent, even at screen size. This could be fixed by reprocessing the original raw files. A beautiful place and both wonderful results.

Yes you've got the lighting, colours and sahding spot on, I think
The width of the image is right but cropped at the top with regards to that bridge...it disturbs me :)

Thank you @19andrew47 for your comment.

About the halos you are right, I will correct them.

Do you prefer the first or the second version?

The reason for the cropping is so that the eyes follow the river to the arch of the bridge and create curiosity to know what is beyond it. Don't see it as a bridge, but as a gate.... :)
    Thanks for the feedback

I like the capture in general with the lighting, buildings, river and the bridge. I am not familiar with that area. If I had seen it once, or read something about it, then the photo would bring back some memories. It reminds me of some other places I have seen.

Both versions are fine with me. I don't have a preference for either one over the other.
