It's working Bob. The closer we get to "D" day the more will join. Looking forward to what this evolves into. Already seeing a lot I know from DPR, so that's a huge bonus from here. Have a good one.
Look at dprevived.com/t/my-thoughts-on-how-this-site-should-work/71/ When I can get the development programme underway I'll concentrate on that side of it. The basic idea is that anyone who makes a contribution gets a stake in deciding how the site runs.
It is great that this was set up so quickly and that it is attracting so many members (both old and new). Thanks to everyone who worked to get this done.
One day we will brag about beign in the first 1000.
I like that many, if not most, are keeping their DPR name.
To add : I have about 80 members on ignore at DPR (many were later banned trolls...) would be nice to be able to transfer that list here. (half joking...)
I really appreciate all the efforts that your Bob and the team are making to get this site up and running. this is truly remarkable. what surprises me the most is that many or all of the members want everything to go smoothly at the drop of a hat!
They don't seem to realize that it is a lot of work!
That said I was able to log in and upload a photo! But like a few other members I was unable to register. Keep up the good work guys!
pierre.
Yes, I am not comfortable with the attitude of the Admin guy there going by his replies to my and some other members' posts there. He seems to run his site along the line "It's my way or the highway".
I tried to close my account there but can't find how, so I posted a thread in Open Talk there asking how to close accounts on his site. Let's see if I get a reply.
Indeed. Or most of those coming here anyway. DPR didn't remove inactive accounts. I joined early 2000 something when I got my first little digital camera. But I mainly lurked and soon lost interest (camera wasn't what I had hoped for). Then I didn't return until, I think, 2015, My account was till there and I managed to log in.
