The image is very well taken, sharply focused and with difficult lighting managed well. The use of silhouette and shadow is a plus here, but the real star of the show is the late day golden light that streams from the upper left across the scene. The leading lines of the road and path draw the eye towards the vanishing point behind the person taking pictures. Nice shot.

This image represents the barriers between people or groups that don't really exist, and are only in our minds. That is why they are so difficult to break down.
This has the ingredients of a solid image. Great color. Interesting scene. Nicely exposed. The theme doesn’t quite stand on its own and it took me a minute to “understand” the intent proposed by the title. I only made that time because I was studying this image critically and searching for the story.
Viewed on its merits, the strong leading line separating the ‘two worlds’ is directing the eye straight to the shadowy, out-of-focus photographer, located dead center. Intentional or not, it's a person located dead center — they've now become the subject. There’s nothing about this subject holding the viewer’s attention. The unengaged eye continues following the line directly to the brighter background — no payoff there — and passes over the bright, but dull, empty sky, to exit top-of-frame.
Edit to add: After another look, there is an alternative path starting from the illuminated subject with the red bag. Unfortunately, it ultimately leads to the same destination. The image has some good bones, but they don’t quite join together to support a living body.
The main subject is the line of poles, the photographer is only the secondary subject, so your eye stopped on him but soon continued to follow the line.
The choice of this title was not to condition the interpretation of the image, but just to create a context.

Sorry for a little bit of critique: I'd prefer to not have the leftmost pole in the image. It is useless to the image and could even be cropped out. On the right, I'd prefer to have more of the booth and the images there and a better view to the man. Then it would be more of a picture of a merchant waiting to sell a bit of his stuff in front of the poles advertising exceedingly expensive shops. Currently, it is a sunset scene for me. A nice one, though!
I understand your suggestions. You want to put more emphasis on the street painter to confront the "world of art and idialism" against the "world of materialism and consumerism". It's an interesting interpretation.

I agree, I'd crop in to focus on the man with the bag looking across the barrier to the artists. The far left doesn't add much - there is a mercedes, but it isn't obvious. Should help focus the subject matter perhaps? cool image though, great light handling.
