Excellent framing and background for that subject. Also, the colours of the spider are just outstanding in their prominence. Well seen and captured.

Your commentary brings additional appreciation that I wouldn't have otherwise. On its own, and with or without the title, the image is a charming glimpse of a fun family moment. However, the contrast between bright red clothing and gray rocks & water makes the mood a bit more somber so I'm kind of uneasy about how to feel.

Simply superb shot of a '50 s diner with chequered flooring, chrome chairs and vinyl seats.
Great atmosphere and light. Very well seen!
    5 stars.

Your work in postproduction resonates nicely with the retro nature of the subject. Or maybe, it creates the retro look.

What immediately came to mind is this is a most appropriate commentary (dark and disturbing) about our planet's reliance on fossil fuels. Hope I'm not stirring a nest of stinging insects!

A fascinating image, one where I'd almost prefer to not read any accompanying text. The lighting and composition make me think of the edge of earth as seen from space. Is the figure a savior or an observer? Compelling.

I'm so pleased you enjoyed, Chris! The light: low angle of sun + some glow in pp to accentuate.

Thank you Jim! This little ice cream parlor is decorated to feel like the 1950's. I did attempt to enhance that mood in pp. I'd share the original; however, I've been overly aggressive with deleting files this past year, thinking I wouldn't want or need to revisit. Ugh, bad decision.

Great natural shot. This picture makes me smile, because the little guy tries to imitate the adult attempting to catch something for dinner. Background is typical and same colour sweaters add an interest for the viewer

Very interesting pp in this shot. Great combinations of colours make it appealing.

Great atmospheric shot with all the elements capturing an early morning moment in time. The birds add extra attraction to the picture for sure. Well seen.

We are witnessing a celebration with band members playing a tune. Very interesting that you have chosen b&w treatment vs colour, which might have added extra "pop".
As it stands I think it's very appropriate.
I like the formation and the background together with movement and undoubtedly the energy and sound which was generated for the audience.

I was helping a friend clean up the back yard of a place into which she had recently moved. There was a row of pots with planted onions left on the fence by the previous tennant. They hadn't been watered in weeks and were bone dry, resulting in the withered leaves and remarkable color. I gave them all water.

Edit: The forum software has pulled the drum scan info out of the file (D4000/Howtek). I didn't even know it was in there.

Wow, colour reproduction is phenomenal for 40+ yrs old rig, like Leica today. It's a tribute to equipment and also the photographer who has extracted the maximum quality out if the film.

Another shot for a flickr group weekly theme, which was "10:10". Didn't quite know what to do with that theme and was very busy anyway. In the last two hours before the deadline I had a couple of ideas and decided to try it anyway. So here's a shot with everyone's favorite Steinheil V-Cassarit 50 mm f/3.5 *(enlarging lens)

I had an instant flashback with your image to time spent in Chicago in the summer of 1994.
I lived there two months and it was great.
One of the memories is eating a hamburger (much better than McDo) at a Johnny Rockets franchise. I thought they nailed the '50s diner vibe quite well with their red-leatherette padded chrome stools etc. Your image captures that same vibe, but even better.

That is indeed a highly spectacular shot in so many ways. Edward Weston would have been proud to have made it.
