It's been too long and I'm commenting from memory.. Lenticular clouds generally form at the top of a wave, often downstream from a mountain chain, when the air is cooled and water droplets form .. some of the cloud may blow off from the wind and change the pattern a bit .. over a mountain the it may become a cap cloud and have interesting plate like forms as the winds change … and then they sometime form some really odd shapes as the winds and convection plays with them. Really rare to see a complete wave as you show and I don't see it in the original photo …. But again this is all from memory and from the long past .. ..

BTW haven't you noticed I don't really like subtly ....

I didn't mess with the clouds. The color image was taken after the IR one. Note the shadows on the mountains. The sun is higher in the color image.

Now that's funny. I have a habit of slightly tilting a camera when I'm composing a shot. No idea why, however I am aware of it and usually remember to straighten things before exposing. Much too often I need to do it PP and because of that I tend to frame with a bit of extra room knowing I'll need to correct.
On this occasion I didn't. It was from my phone and I posted it here without my usual check. The whole tilt was quite unintended.

I would have clearly zoomed in more on the UFO in the iphone shot 😂:

Okay - now for real though:

I really like this image. The layers are fantastic and the clouds really special. The combination of rounded shapes of the clouds and the sharp edges of the mountains is just superb. Very well captured!

Only thing I can think of, which I might find a bit more interesting, (if possible). Get to an even lower POV in order for the small peaks in the front to stretch inside of the layers behind, like that:

Or if that wasn't possible in the moment (or wouldn't have worked out in terms of perspective) make the different shades a bit more apparent in post.

Interesting - may I ask what the story is you wanted to show?

That's a great shot - I like the composition and particularly love the shadows because the add a whole nother layer to the image. Excellent!

Great shot with wonderful use of color, lines and effective composition. I also love the title!

When the first flowers bloomed this year, I tried to capture a few different versions of the liverleaf. Here's a slightly more experimental one:

Sorry about that .. I come to C&C to read what you see and not what i see so I'd rather not and probably should not have added that thought about those lines ...

I think this is a great shot. The gestures and the shadows make it for me. I'd like to see it with less contrast and with the strap tightener on the far left cropped out or removed.

I'm sorry, but this immediately reminded me of how it cost more money to fix this in the Walking Dead. Just amusing to see it as an artistic choice. Kinda wish the image felt more neony. It's kinda got this subtle Vegas Vibe with those beautiful red light streaks.

If you took a capture of the same spot without the artists on, you could also create an interesting image with a perhaps different meaning, based on the shadows alone... (something like this, but of course with some consideration and higher quality):

Thank you for the critique .. I confess I didn't know your reference and I had to look it up. I guess I've never been into zombie movies or tv series but I must have seen one or more somewhere in the past but looking though google lists of the best 30, 40, 50 .. I had seen none!! .... Not sure how this picture evokes that idea ...or what kind of "fix" you're referencing .....

An interesting perspective thing within this pic though. My mind processes the tilt and ignores it. But what I noticed was the chair. It looks like it is leaning sideways up on two legs. So I had a closer look and that impression is caused by the chair legs not being parallel to the metal or tiled covering on the floor nor the metal surround of the snacks dispenser.

    San Francisco Peaks, Flagstaff, AZ
    SF Peaks-S-S.jpg

Looking north east at sunset from my living room windows in Prescott, AZ, Nov, 2005 to Flagstaff and the San Francisco Peaks, 100 miles away.

    Great "Alpen Glow."

Granite Dells in the foreground, then Prescott Valley, Mingus Mountain about 30 miles away, then the San Francisco Peaks with Mt. Humphries at 12,600 ft and Mt. Agassiz at 12,300 ft. catching the last rays of the sun. Cottonwood and Sedona are between Mingus and Flagstaff.

Prescott is at 5000 ft, Flagstaff at 7000ft. The 100 mile sight line to the Flagstaff peaks was one of the most beautiful vistas I have ever seen. I photographed it hundreds of times in all kinds of weather conditions.

The blacked out headlights. If I recall the story correctly, the issue was the BMPCC4k had this weird inverse error where anything over 100% illumination turned black and they ran an episode with a big ole black spot in the middle of the sun on its initial broadcast.

Simply brilliant on multiple levels. The "pairing is established and reinforced in many ways.Colours; hats, braces. trousers all linking with the triangles and lines and the reds and blacks of the background.
Shapes. Triangles of background plus structure plus shadows plus position of legs and arms.
Lighting. Having the hands lit against contrasting background. It doesn't matter too much that one face is in dark shadow because the links between the two and other elements of the shot have already been so strongly established. Getting the shadows of the pair and having the shadows not directly connected to the pair is truly wonderful. The shadows have become another pair in their own right but of course we know what they are.
I don't mind the turnbuckle. It is balanced by the inclusion of the rail structure to the right. The whole composition is so strong that the turnbuckle can't distract, it gives a little more location information that is explored after the main image has sunk in. For much the same reason I like the degree of shadow on the face of the black hatted subject. It is rare for an image to be so strong that a face in so much shadow can actually be a strength.
Can I give more than 5 out of five?
