This is what Hollywood actors must feel like when they are acting opposite a character represented by a person in a blue suit, who will be replaced by a motion captured CGI creation later.
    Made me smile.

"Seeing in black and white" has been an interest of mine since taking a black and white film class in 1989. I've gotten away from b&w somewhat, but I do try to remember that if I'm shooting for a monochrome result, I should be looking at textures, shapes, light and shadows, patterns, contrast, perhaps minimalism over "busy," things like that. There are tons of inspiring photographs and informational articles & videos online, of course.

Wonderful! Bright colors, non-competing background, eye-catching pose, a perfect frame/crop IMO because there is "just enough" negative space to keep from feeling crowded. I even find interest in the shadow pattern on the bird's head. Love it!

    Mother India

The statue is of Mother India, but despite the femininity of the name, India is still a society where women are at the mercy of men more dramatically than many other countries.

    Hi Linda,
It looks like this is close to a power plant, it's not just lines but three different poles and also where the lines go and find their connection and this makes it more interesting to me. What have you tried to express here, the aesthetic interplay of lines, the chaos compared to a railway line that can also be found randomly on large surfaces or just a combination that raises the riddle!

I like this picture because the viewer has to find the meaning for themselves.

Very beautiful - I like the composition and particularly the colors. The similar size of the sphere on top of the gate and the bokeh highlights in the background is a nice touch. Excellent capture!

Great shot! Really well spotted. It's very interesting and haunting at the same time. I looked at the image first and only read the text later and I have to say, that I didn't even realize what was going on at the size the image is displayed on the site. Only when I enlarged it and read the text, the full gravity of the situation was apparent to me.

That's why (even though I think I get why you went for the shot you did, because it has interesting lines) I would go for a crop in this situation:

I also tried to change the mood and focus the attention a bit more on the thing going on by some more processing. Of course it's not as suble as your original, but because of my initial experience with the image, I thought it might be worth a try...

    Excellent photography!

I will be intrigued to see how everyone responds to this. I'm interested in gut responses rather than accurate guesses as to what this is. A couple of clues. I'm in Italy and this was in an art exhibition.

I like it a lot! Can't exactly explain why, but my gut feeling would call this installation: "nessuno è superiore alla legge!" (No one is above the law!)

Great capture and very effective composition!

Thank you so much - I'm truly humbled to hear that! Still feel like I got so much to learn though...

Thank you - you give me way too much credit though... I'm feel like I'm mostly just experimenting. You know what they say about a broken clock? *"It's broken, but who needs it anyway in the era of the smartphone!" * 😅

You're correct - I think they don't have one originally! 😁 Glad you like the image - thank you!

    Thanks a lot - that's very kind!

A very nicely captured dynamic image that has so many eye catching qualities - the repetition of curves in the skatepark, the shadows, the designs in it, and the wall behind it. The skater looks airborne but the shadow absolutely confirms it. The recurrent blue colors are another repetition that pulls the pieces together. Of course the shadow is my favorite park, small and intense, Peter-Pan-like, showing us the skater as the same but different. You are a master of shadows, and I always enjoy them.
