Hello, Everyone and thanks for making Contributions to this worthwhile endeavor,

This weekly thread serves as a place for those DPRevived.com members who own Fuji gear to share recent work …… specifically, with their Fuji X APS-C cameras. It's just fine for owners to post images made with their “other” cameras, but the idea is to allow owners with Fuji X APS-C cameras to compare notes, tips, and any other helpful hints.

To contribute your image, please respond to the original thread. Please include at the top your message a title to reflect what you wish to convey. Consider making it somewhat entertaining… it may add some “spice.” In addition to uploading/embedding your image, please tell us a little about the image if you wish. It is helpful to some of us who are less traveled to talk about the location of your photo if possible. If you can provide details such as camera, settings, and processing, that would be great for people reviewing the images.

If you wish C&C (comments/critique) please indicate that in your post. In this thread it should not be assumed everyone wants C&C. However, if you want specific feedback (composition, exposure, subject, etc.), don’t hesitate to mention it. It may be helpful to respondents what your needs may be.

    Thanks,

    Bob, your humble host

PS…… TREXMARK posted his first in last weeks thread so I moved it here.... so it was first!

Upper wall and Partial Ceiling Pano Spanish Chapel, Florence, Italy

    Hello, Again,

I am back home and tasked with processing a whole lotta images. Went back to the Church in Florence because the Spanish Chapel was so beautifully painted and I did not have a lens that adequately covered the area. Word to the wise….. for Fuji owners…. Take the 10-24, please! and you will need to do some noise cleanup which, based upon a pano below, can be easily done. Then go back and sharpen.

Pano originally was 10K in length. I downsampled to about 4500. Please take your time and observe the detailed painting. It looks even more remarkable in full res. AND I purposely left the image uncropped. Did not want to miss any of the image that came out. And it is fairly High Res!

Hope to see a lot of your images.

    Bob

Number 1 is my favorite, as the background is less distracting, and the colors complement each other.

Those places are nothing less than amazing human achievements. That's a great image, Bob - but it's like trying to truly convey the feeling of standing on a butte and looking over the vastness of northern Montana wilderness to someone who has never seen it in person. Very hard to do with a two-dimensional image.

That’s true. What I thought with this one is the mind could look at the image and subjectively fill in the missing parts. Only thing missing is a familiar sized object to give it scale.

I did it... I got an X-T5. I am perfectly happy with my X-T3, but, I am lucky to have a few important photo opportunities this summer, where I can't risk having no backup camera. The IBIS, extra resolution, faster operation + AF did the persuasion. So far I am chuffed to bits. Here are just a few edited snaps:

Yesterday there were strong winds, high seas and "beach hazard" warnings.  Again.  Looking into the crystal ball yesterday morning, I saw "shopping", and not sailing, in my immediate future.....  😎

    An island shop:

    5-18-23 - Island store.jpg

An Ocracoke house on the water.  I liked this house - if I was going to live here it would be in a remote house like this one. Unfortunately, buying even a small place here is far beyond my reach.

    5-18-23 - Ocracoke House.jpg

A POS (Proof Of Shopping) pic to prove to my daughter that I'm treating my bride well - she thinks I don't take Nancy shipping often enough. 😁

    5-18-23 - POS - 1.jpg

An effort at an island still life to pass the time while "shopping".

I liked this house in town, too.

The harbor late in the day:

    5-18-23 - Harbor.jpg

We checked on Maggie Too.   The mooring lines were holding and she was fine, but she is NOT happy about being stuck in her slip. It is supposed to be windy for the next full week and we leave next Friday.  I'm starting to get concerned about our ability to recover the boat to be able to go home.  Unlike with a regular power boat, that is NOT something you want to even think about trying to do with a sailboat in high winds.  I guess we'll keep a close eye on the marine forecast and hope to get a momentary break. If we do, I'll pull the boat out and give up on any more sailing.

    5-18-23 - Maggie Too in her slip.jpg

We topped off the non-sailing day by going out to dinner at a nice place. There are some cool restaurants and bars here.

    5-18-23 - Dinner at Dajio.jpg

It poured rain last night and it has been pouring all day today so far. Owning and driving the big motorhome is costly and a pain, but it is much appreciated on days like this.

Yep! I thought it was very well done, given the difficulty of the task.

Nice. I had an XT1 when they first came out - rather quickly replaced with the XT2 appeared. I kept the TX2 for a long time (still have it), because I didn't perceive the XT3 had enough improvements to be worth the cost. I was very happy with it. I didn't like the XT4 - seemed a departure from the line to me. I got an XT5 some in January and have been very pleased with it. Worth the upgrade cost, IMO. This was one of the first images taken with it.
