The guy DonB on dpreview operated the same way as you but he made the mistake of leaving his contact name in the exif of one of his posted images.

If you mean in the exif data then yes. I use Exiftool to edit the exif when needed.
well Bob added the field "iso" If members here dont set there camera iso or refer to it then "why"

it shows camera exposure settings 😒
Also, it shows camera model, ISO, and focal length.
Touché 👍

that's as bad as people signing there photos "Amazing Photography" on Facebook or anywhere actually.
The guy Don B was a member of DPR from 2003. before i even owned a digital camera, i was shooting film. so i dont see any relevance only to make trouble.
I'm just making the observation that you and he operate very similarly.
I know you have said you were never DonB and I am not saying you are, so you have nothing to worry about DonB having been proved a liar online elsewhere.
but because Bob has added iso in the exif data to show what the camera exposure was set too 🤣🤣🤣
thats gold
Not the only completely incorrect and ludicrous statement you've made in this thread, Don.

Really, I think that what might or might not have been people's previous nicks on DPReview is a discussion that goes nowhere.

'Bob' hasn't done anything.

You learned a lot from him.

my bad, so everyone wants to see what iso value is now as its an important measurement. sorry for the missunderstanding

Your just a trouble maker, and twist so many posts to create trouble.
Hmmm fake exif LOL no body mentioned fake anything.
Read and comprehend what is written before making wild accusations.Your accusation against Bob is plain English and very clear.
You said "Bob has added iso in the exif data....." which clealrly means you are saying he added ISO data, either because it was blank or missing, to the exif data of a posted image.
Now you are back-pedalling trying to squirm your way out of what you said. It's as simple as that 😊
when did exif come on line ?
That came out with EXIF about 4 days ago Don. It was in a gallery update. Not there one day and there the next.

Is it possible to design a camera without an ISO dial?
Given you can increase exposure, would you increase ISO setting instead?

No problems.

"exposure value" is how we communicate our photography to one and another, "exposure" is meaning less without iso /film speed. iso is and will always be part of "exposure value"
back to your question. there will always be a need to adjust iso/gain. EV of a scene is dependant on what the photographer wants his image to look like. there will always be 3 controlling factors.
like a car we will always need a steering system. brakes and throttle.
