Here's one from last weekend. A young red-tailed hawk cruises along Mormon Lake's east rim in search of a meal on a fine spring day.

That's a lovely photo. The D500 with 200-500 lens used to be my go to combination for birds, just finding it a bit heavy to handhold these days.

Thanks. Have you found a suitable replacement that isn't as heavy?
I'm experimenting with an OM-1 and the 100-400 lens with and without the 1.4 converter. The photo in the 'A bit of a stretch' thread was shot with this, with the converter. I'll post a Red Kite which is more similar to your hawk, which was taken without the converter.
