    Hi Photobygms,

Is that heather in photos 3 and 4, it looks a beautiful area. Love your wildflower.

    Hi Steve,

That sumac looks an interesting shrub, you'll have to show us the autumn result.

    Mocha,

Thanks. A person has to be ready for such photos; it actually can be quite hard. You do not want to follow people (the way I look at it); you let them come to you or you take them randomly. I have to be "forward" and brave enough to want to capture them. Most of the young people don't mind you taking pictures of them since they are often snapping pictures of each other with their cell phones anyway. I think there's been a slight cultural shift that way, I've noticed over the years. It may be different in other countries, although...it's just what I've experienced where I live.

    Hi Photobygms, Thank You.

My area where I live has a far more temperate climate than the Scottish highlands but I still head south rather than north on my trips.

    Thanks digirame.
I plan to get a longer lens someday. It's kinda ironic that when I switched to M43 I actually lost a bit of zooming power (previously I had 300mm x 1.6 = 480mm eq.), but the camera/lens combination is less than half the weight, which is why I switched in the first place.

    Super shots mocha.
That pic of the Speckled Wood is brilliant.

    Great photos Digirame.

    3 is my favourite.

EDIT: I just found out what starting a line with a "#" does. I guess I'll just leave it.

Here's another shot of the same squirrel, taken not far from the original two pics:

    Dunlin,

In addition to the Canon 55-250mm lens, the Tamron 70-300mm lens is a good option too (for a longer reach and it's relatively light). I've been tempted to get that one, but I think I have enough toys now. I think Mocha uses that Tamron lens. The two mirrorless cameras with the EF-M lenses I have are tiny compared to my DSLR cameras and lenses. As you probably remember, many years ago I took pictures with Olympus DSLR cameras. There's so many choices out there; it's hard to say what's best sometimes. I do like the "giant" Tamron 150-600mm lens. That's really heavy but the pictures you can get from it, make it worthwhile.

    Dunlin,

Thanks. I'm glad you like the pictures taken at the fair. Thanks for letting me know your favorite. I like to show a mixture of different kinds of subjects taken at different focal lengths. That variety gives a person a better overall perspective of what was happening at the event.

    Dunlin,

That's great to see your additional photo of the squirrel. I like taking pictures of them on fences especially if the background is sky too (or some other non-distracting element).

    Subject: Egret and Heron

I've been so busy traveling and taking pictures at events, that I wanted you all to know that I still do take pictures of wildlife too. 😀 Here's a few I hope you like.

Photo No. 1 - I was fortunate to have found this white egret.
    ResizedDPR1.jpg
    Model - Canon EOS 800D
    ExposureTime - 1/1000 seconds
    FNumber - 9
    ISOSpeedRatings - 500
    ExposureBiasValue - 0
    FocalLength - 600 mm
Lens Model - TAMRON SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD A011

Photo No. 2 - Here's another one of the same egret.
    ResizedDPR2.jpg
    Model - Canon EOS 800D
    ExposureTime - 1/1000 seconds
    FNumber - 9
    ISOSpeedRatings - 500
    ExposureBiasValue - 0
    FocalLength - 600 mm
Lens Model - TAMRON SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD A011

Photo No. 3 - What I saw was something like this (from a shorter focal length).
    ResizedDPR3.jpg
    Model - Canon EOS 800D
    ExposureTime - 1/1000 seconds
    FNumber - 9
    ISOSpeedRatings - 800
    ExposureBiasValue - -0.67
    FocalLength - 150 mm
Lens Model - TAMRON SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD A011

Photo No. 4 - And another.... I could have waited for the bird to get closer, but I thought I would walk around and find another one. But I never did.
    ResizedDPR4.jpg
    Model - Canon EOS 800D
    ExposureTime - 1/1000 seconds
    FNumber - 9
    ISOSpeedRatings - 640
    ExposureBiasValue - -1
    FocalLength - 150 mm
Lens Model - TAMRON SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD A011

Photo No. 5 - But I did see this heron high up on this pole.
    ResizedDPR5.jpg
    Model - Canon EOS 800D
    ExposureTime - 1/1250 seconds
    FNumber - 9
    ISOSpeedRatings - 400
    ExposureBiasValue - 0.33
    FocalLength - 600 mm
Lens Model - TAMRON SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD A011

Photo No. 6 - I had a hard time holding the lens steady, because I had to take this with the lens pointed up. I could not brace it as well against the rest of myself. So I increased the shutter speed on this one and tried hard to keep it from moving. It was a little sharper I think, but I liked the lighting better on the previous one.
    ResizedDPR6.jpg
    Model - Canon EOS 800D
    ExposureTime - 1/1600 seconds

    ExposureBiasValue - 0.33
    FocalLength - 600 mm

I like the blue sky as the background.
