This weekly thread is principally intended for you to show others the photos made with Canon cameras of all sorts: SLR, DSLR, Mirrorless, M-series, APS-C, film, etc. BUT all brands of camera will be accepted, including photos taken with your phone. We do enjoy reading an accompanying text explaining your photo and any special techniques you may have used. Comments and helpful criticisms on others' photos are also welcome: we can all learn something from each other. We look forward to seeing your photos.

A new thread for the following week will be posted next Saturday around 10 pm UK time.

Digirame and I will be active here and are sharing the hosting, but we hope that all will join in and comment on others' photos.

New contributors to this series of threads aree always welcome!

Last week I found time to scan some ot the films shot in Luxemburg, Did post these also in the Film section
    And now also here
All photos we're taken with our Canon Eos 1V and different lenses
The Haardhaff ruine photos were taken with the Canon EF 24-70 F4L IS USM Some may remember this ruine 😉
Don't know what its purpose used to be, but the allied forces have used it as a encampment back in 44/45
During the Battle of the Bulge there were U.S. Artillery positions to defend the front line on the Sauer.

These were shot on Rollei Retro 400S Developed back at home with Ilfosol 3 (1:9)
    EOS-1V_009.jpg
    EOS-1V_007.jpg

These were shot on Ilford Delta 400 Developing was done with Caffenol-C-L at 22c and stand developing for 50 minutes
Did use our trusty Canon EF28-300mm f/3.5-5.6L IS USM for these

Here's a bit of bird photography; a spotted nutcracker. I had never seen one personally, but I heard a few of them had been spotted in a botanical garden about 20 km away. Sure enough, I found them. Image stabilization helped a lot in the low light at cloudy autumn afternoon below trees.

    MikaY,

Seeing the beak on that guy, I can see why they are called Nutcrackers.

PS: How do you like your R7?

If my T8i ever gets lost or broken, I've been thinking that that would be the camera I would get to replace it with.

I've been pretty impressed with the R7. In many ways it's actually a better camera than my 5D mk IV. Obviously the larger sensor wins especially if there's in-lens image stabilization and/or there's no need to crop significantly, but overall I'd say it's very nice value for money; it's very fast and responsible, burst shooting capabilities are on a very different level, autofocus is very impressive for specific subjects (people, animals, vehicles), IBIS actually does a pretty good job for non-stabilized EF lenses and there's a lot of capability for customization available for the camera controls compared to what I was used to with my DSLRs. I've been actually using it more than my 5D mk IV, although not so much more that I'd feel it's completely capable of replacing the full-frame DSLR.

    Hi Photobygms,

Super set of photos that bring back memories, so long since I last did my own Film processing.

That's excellent - love the composition, the reflections as well as the wonderful shapes of the roots. Very well captured!

    Photobygms,

Yes, I think you showed us the Haardhaff ruine previously. Why did you take these with a film camera and then scan them? Were you doing this just for fun? Did you develop your own film?

    MikaY,

That's an impressive photo of the Spotted Nutcracker at 1/20th of a second. It must have been very dark.

    Mocha,

I'm glad you were able to have nice weather during your walk along the Macclesfield Canal. My favorite is the picture of the heron. I just love the background and the foreground with the reflections. That is so spectacular. Lately, I have had a hard time finding a heron. You motivate me to look harder. 😀

    Simplejoy,

That's interesting how you described how you feel with what you captured in the first photo. That looks like to me, the feeling of not being happy, but not being sad either; just somewhere in between. Did I guess that right? The photo that immediately grabbed my attention was the one of the green bottle. I thought that was very good, very interesting and unique.

Me trying to play planespotter when I didn't have the right gear (55-250) on hand. It was unexpected for the planes to take this route. This is an older shot, that I was playing around in raw. One of my favorite planes in the Airbus A350, I mean just look at those wingtips.

Contemplated removing the power lines but I kinda like how they separate the plane (air) and top of trees (ground), if that even makes sense.
