Your Canon Photos No. 6: 11th to 17th June 2023

This weekly thread is principally intended for you to show others the photos made with Canon cameras of all sorts: SLR, DSLR, Mirrorless, M-series, APS-C, film, etc. BUT, because you may have the opportunity of taking an outstanding picture when you do not have a Canon camera with you, all brands of camera will be accepted, including photos taken with your phone. We do enjoy reading an accompanying text explaining your photo and any special techniques you may have used. Comments and helpful criticisms on others' photos are also welcome: we can all learn something from each other. We look forward to seeing your photos. Please continue to join in and comment on others' photos and contribute to what has turned out to be a most successful part of DPRevival.

My 100-400 comes up a bit short at times so there's heavy cropping and thus enhanced in TopazAI.

Processed in dxo Photo Lab 6.x trial version since my current Capture One doesn't support the R8.

And now for something completely different...

I have not been totally idle while the weather has been bad. I have spent time regulating the touch of my large harpsichord. This is a view of the jacks (made of beech), which have bits of feather (swan and goose) to pluk the strings, and red damping cloth to ... damp the note after it is released! There are three rows of jacks and I have been working on the rear row. (The metal things in front are tuning pins -- 157 in total.)

A close up shows more detail than I can see with the naked eye. The plectra are cut from a feather with scissors and shaped with a scalpel.

I enjoyed seeing the bird photos. The birds are much different than what we have in Oregon. The heron is nicely captured with a great background.

It's interesting to see your large harpsichord. Is regulating the touch somehow like tuning a piano?

Subject: Rhododendron Wall

At the end of May I got a chance to see a rhododendron wall at our local rose garden. I caught it at its peak or nearly so. I brought with me four cameras and four lenses, just so I could play around with them. Two cameras and lenses would have been fine otherwise.

I hope you like seeing the rhododendron wall.

Subject: Vacation

Hi all,

I am letting you all know, I'm taking a vacation in a few days. 😀 It will be for a week. Then I'll have a "million" photos to process, so I'll probably be not replying for a few days also after I return. @Digirame which picture style and WB setting were used for the Rhododendron Wall captures? I'm surprised at how much better the colors look on the T7i in comparison to the M50 mkii.
